John Tillman

John Tillman is one of the nation’s most influential free-market policy leaders. John served as CEO of the Illinois Policy Institute from 2007 to 2021, building it into one of the most effective, state-based think tanks in America. He continues to serve the institute as chair; and, in 2020, he played a key role in defeating Illinois’ proposed progressive income tax. He also co-founded the Liberty Justice Center, which won the landmark Janus v. AFSCME case before the U.S. Supreme Court, securing First Amendment protections for millions of public-sector workers.
